The term also connects the imbalances of power, social injustices, and ecological deterioration. It provides a systemic approach to the issue and sheds light on the ecological and social effects of the hegemonic productive, consumerist, and extractivist model. On the other hand, it underscores the relation between overcoming planetary boundaries and exacerbating social inequalities. In this approach, ecological deterioration and social crisis are considered to be two sides of the same coin.
