Accessibility Statement

This is an accessibility statement from MODII.

Measures to support accessibility

MODII takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of modii.org:

  • Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
  • Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
  • Integrate accessibility into our procurement practices.
  • Appoint an accessibility officer or ombudsperson.
  • Provide continual accessibility training for our staff.
  • Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
  • Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

modii.org is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA Success Criteria: videos have international sign language interpretation and some colours on our website meet the AAA conformance level.

Accessibility of modii.org relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML
  • WAI-ARIA
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Despite our best efforts to ensure the accessibility of modii.org, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for modii.org:

Accessibility overlay: The screen reader doesn’t work correctly because we didn’t develop this tool. We rely on every screen reader user to use their preferred tool. We are working on making the website fully screen reader accessible without any external device. We decided to keep the tool available to a wide range of users that might find it helpful. You can contact our specialised accessibility staff if you have any concerns.

Alternative text on images: We know some pictures lack meaningful alternative text because we have uploaded a lot of content during these years. We are working with accessibility specialists to fix this issue.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of modii.org. Please let us know if you encounter accessibility barriers on modii.org by sending an email to: info@modii.org. We´ll try to respond to feedback within one business day.
