Sisterhood is understood as the alliance among women in the search for common objectives.
In Spanish, the equivalent is ‘sororidad’, which would point to ‘sorority’ in English. However, in English, the term sorority is often used to refer to social organizations that are part of the university system in the US and Canada. Thus, in these countries the term ‘sisterhood’ should be used instead.
