Hembrism

This neologism refers to women’s discrimination towards men. The term is problematic and creates extensive debates. Those who advocate for coining this term argue that it fills a semantic gap of an expression that opposes male chauvinism. 

Colloquially and in mass media, people often assume that feminism is the antonym of male chauvinism, which is incorrect. In reality, feminism advocates for equality among sexes. In no way does it propose female superiority. In this sense, both hembrism and male chauvinism oppose feminist foundations.

On the other hand, some argue that male chauvinism and hembrism cannot be considered symmetrical terms. The first is a social construction that has been evident throughout history with real events. In contrast, hembrism is a theoretical concept with manifestations and attitudes pertaining to individuals. There is no data or theoretical foundations that indicate that this practice does in fact exist.

Instead, it seems that the need to coin the terms hembrism and hembristlies in discrediting feminism, not in denouncing discriminatory sexist practices towards men. Therefore, the expression is considered derogatory. 

Finally, hembrism is not the same as misandry. Hembrism refers to a supposed concept of superiority of women while misandry is the hate or dislike towards men.
