A person who was born with a female reproductive system, yet psychologically and vitally they identify with the masculine gender. Transsexual men may aspire to affirm their gender identity through surgeries or hormone replacement therapy to adapt their anatomy and adopt a masculine gender.
In terms of sexual orientation, a transsexual man can feel attraction towards other men and identify as a gay man. He can feel attracted to women and identify as a heterosexual man; he can feel attracted to both men and women and identify as a bi man; or he might not feel sexually attracted to any gender.
Transsexual men have suffered social and legislative stigma, for example, when using their name in an identity document. A transsexual man can recognize himself at any age and his decisions must be respected and supported. A type of transphobia that many transsexual men suffer is being in public places, such as pools, and having to use feminine garments.
